Southern River family practice is a Mixed Billing. Effective February 19th, 2024, there will be changes to our fee schedule.

Patients under the age of 16, Pension Card, Concession Card, Healthcare Card holders will continue to be bulk-billed From Mon-Fri & Sat (till 1pm).

All visits on Saturday (After 1pm) & Sunday, and Public Holidays are privately billed. The charge applies even for patients under the age of 16 and patients who hold a valid Pension Card, Concession Card, Healthcare Card or DVA Card.

Please notify reception at least 2 hours in advance if you cannot attend your appointment. Cancellations made with less than 2 hours' notice will incur a cancellation fee: $70.00 for single appointments

Consultation Times & Fees

Our consultation fees are based on Medicare time descriptors.

• Standard Consultation: 6–20 minutes
• Long Consultation: More than 20 minutes

Consultation time includes both the face-to-face discussion and the clinical work completed by your doctor, such as notes, referrals, prescriptions and care coordination.

Most appointments are booked as standard consultations. If your consultation exceeds 20 minutes, a long consultation fee will apply in line with Medicare guidelines.

If you have multiple or complex concerns, we recommend booking a longer appointment to ensure adequate time for your care.
